Why Do We Believe That Religions Exist?

Religion is something that people believe in. It is like a special ceremony each person has. Some ceremonies like Christianity usually pray to one God and worship him. They believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the son of God. Other ceremonies like the Muslims perform Salat, their way of praying. In this ritual they get on their knees and they worship Allah, their God. They perform Salat five times a day. There are many different types of religion. It depends on the person which one they choose to follow. Usually it depends where you grew up and who your tutors were. I think religion exists because of the Ancient civilizations. I think that the rulers started it. You know how the rulers use to say that God gave them their powers? Well I think that the people used that as an advantage. They probably were thinking "well if he can get the powers then why not us?" And so different people made up their own stories, and it depended on the other people who followed who. So that is why many people believe in many Gods because maybe after that guy died they would choose someone else in their place and worship them and also the one before. They probably believed in afterlife so they probably thought they should still keep worshiping the God before. That is why religions exist in so many different ways.
